Electrical Project Manager

Rochester, Kent

3-4 days a week in the office

£60,000–£65,000

We are currently partnering with a well-established power generation solutions provider who are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join their growing operations team.

They specialise in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of generator systems for commercial, industrial and critical environments such as data centres and hospitals. The team is growing and they’re looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end project delivery, working closely with site engineers, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The role is based in Rochester, Kent and requires office working of 3-4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical and generator installation projects from initiation through to completion
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulations
  • Coordinate electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and variations to maintain financial control
  • Conduct site inspections and lead progress meetings with clients
  • Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and all relevant health & safety regulations
  • Identify and mitigate risks while resolving technical and logistical challenges
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, and handover packs
  • Support commissioning, testing, and final project delivery

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or similar role
  • Strong background in electrical installations, ideally within generator or power systems
  • Good understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems
  • Knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and UK compliance standards
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Strong planning, organisational, and budget management skills
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g. MS Project or similar)

Bonus Skills: Generator systems, ATS/UPS integration, low voltage distribution, critical environments (data centres, hospitals, utilities)

Salary: £60,000–£65,000
