This position sits within the product development function and will work closely with engineering, design, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and engaging technical content is delivered across a range of platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex information into clear, concise, and engaging documentation.
- Produce high-quality technical materials including:
- User guides
- Instruction and operating manuals
- Training documentation
- Online help content
- Create technical specifications in collaboration with engineering, sales teams, and customers.
- Develop simplified maintenance instructions and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and product teams to ensure accuracy and clarity of information.
- Support the sales function with technical documentation, site visits, and product insights.
- Liaise with external providers such as translators and printers where required.
- Review and enhance existing documentation, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Coordinate illustrations and visual aids using relevant software tools.
- Ensure all documentation meets company design and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, health & safety standards, and company policies.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Strong educational background (including English and Maths).
- Experience in technical writing or producing user manuals/documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD and technical design concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tools such as Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable
- Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience within manufacturing, quarrying, or recycling equipment sectors.
- Creative approach to producing visually engaging documentation.
