We’re hiring a Director of Data & Analytics to rebuild and scale a data function from the ground up within a high-growth consumer business in Dubai. You’ll transform a manual, under-leveraged setup into a production-grade platform, while embedding analytics directly into Product, Growth, and Commercial teams.
This is a hands-on builder role, owning architecture, deploying an embedded analytics model, and ensuring data drives real business decisions.
Responsibilities:
1) Build the Data Foundation
- Architect production-grade pipelines, data models, and infrastructure
- Establish governance, quality, and tooling standards
- Move from manual reporting → scalable, reliable platform
- Build with future AI / ML use cases in mind
2) Build an Embedded Analytics Model (Core to the Role)
- Design and implement a distributed analytics function
- Partner with Product, Commercial, Growth, Finance & Customer Care to define needs
- Train centrally → deploy into business units
- Maintain shared standards, tooling, and a strong community of practice
3) Drive Commercial Impact
- Act as a true business partner, not a support function
- Work closely with Product, Growth & Commercial leadership
- Ensure data drives decisions, not just dashboards
What we are looking for:
- 12+ years’ experience across data, analytics, or data engineering, including 3+ years leading a data function
- Demonstrated ability to build data platforms from the ground up in high-growth, fast-moving environments, not just oversee, but actively deliver
- Strong experience implementing decentralised analytics models, enabling business units while maintaining consistency in data standards and infrastructure
- Deep technical capability across modern data ecosystems, comfortable owning architecture decisions, reviewing engineering work, and shaping data models
- Practical experience with leading tools and platforms such as Databricks, dbt, workflow orchestration tools, and cloud-based data warehouses (ideally AWS)
- Hands-on experience developing and managing experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and performance measurement
- Prior exposure to consumer-facing, marketplace, or subscription-driven businesses, with a solid understanding of user behaviour, conversion funnels, cohort trends, and revenue drivers
