Resident Engagement Assistant - Cambridge

Are you passionate about working with communities and helping residents have a real voice in local decision‑making?

We are looking for a Resident Engagement Assistant to play a key role in supporting tenants and leaseholders to actively participate in shaping their neighbourhoods and council services.

About the Role

As a Resident Engagement Assistant, you will support the promotion and delivery of opportunities for residents to get involved in local decision making. You will work closely with council teams and community members to build trust, strengthen relationships, and ensure resident voices are heard and valued.

You will lead and support meaningful, place‑based engagement activity – such as estate walkabouts, volunteering initiatives and community days – and help join up engagement activity across the Council.

The post holder will have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in community engagement, gaining practical experience whilst receiving formal training on consultation, support, and collaboration with communities.

The sutiable candidate will require a Full UK Driving License

What we can offer:

Hours: 22 hours per week. Occasional evenings and weekends, in line with the role requirements. 

Working Pattern: 22hrs, to be worked between Monday – Friday, covering the core hours of the service.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £32,597 - £36,363  Pay Band 4 Pro rata for part time.

Location: Flexible working, with an expectation that at least 50% of the week will be in the office/out on estates
