Consultant Orthodontist

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Consultant Orthodontist to join our dynamic Oral Surgery & Orthodontics team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and shape specialist orthodontic care for the local community, providing high‑quality assessment and treatment for children and adults with a wide range of orthodontic needs.

The post holder will lead the delivery of specialist orthodontic care for children and adults, managing complex multidisciplinary and orthognathic cases. They will contribute to the development of the orthodontic service and work closely with colleagues in Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatrics, and regional partners. The role involves clinical governance, audit, service improvement and supervision of junior dental staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective orthodontic treatment for children and adults, including complex secondary‑care cases.
• Participate in combined orthodontic‑orthognathic pathways in collaboration with NNUH.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit and continuous improvement within the service.
• Support and supervise junior dental staff, including DCTs, and contribute to teaching activities.
• Maintain continuing professional development and engagement with CME.
• Help ensure the smooth running and development of the orthodontic service, including participation in departmental meetings and annual job planning.
• Comply with Trust policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, data protection and equality.

This role includes a balance of direct clinical care and supporting professional activities, ensuring high‑quality patient care and ongoing service development.
