Role Overview
We are seeking a values-driven Locum Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in GI and MSK to work within a cohesive team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital. Candidates should be able to handle risk and ambiguity comfortably and will be expected to bring intellect and insight to leading on complex services.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the diagnostic on-call rota and provide weekend working sessions as part of the DCC.
- Attend the diagnostic on-call rota with a 1 PA weekly allowance for diagnostic on-call duties and weekend working time. The diagnostic consultant is 2nd on call; 1st on call is a combination of the regional registrar hub and evening/overnight outsourcing company.
- Serve as the 1st on call for interventional services shared with The Countess of Chester Hospital.
- Take an active role in service development and redesign and collaborate with other local service providers.
Working Conditions
- Job plans: 10 programmed activities – 8.5 direct clinical care and 1.5 supporting professional activity (core SPA).
- Additional 2 hours per week SPA are accommodated in monthly audit sessions and teaching during DCC commitments.
- Flexible and partial remote working patterns are considered.

- Experience in complex services.
