As a central commercial lead within Royal Mail's Wholesale function, you will play a pivotal role in managing risk, guiding strategic decisions, and ensuring strong, value-adding relationships with our Access customers. This is an opportunity to shape high impact contracts that influence over £1.8bn of bulk mail traffic and support one of the UK's most recognised brands.
About the Role
- Own the end to end performance of complex, high value commercial contracts, ensuring they deliver value and manage risk effectively
- Lead contract negotiations, variations, and dispute resolution in complex commercial and regulatory environments
- Provide commercial leadership on contract structure, terms, and risk mitigation for new and existing agreements
- Act as the central commercial interface between product, operations, legal, regulation, and finance
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, competition law, and Royal Mail governance requirements
- Oversee contract monitoring, performance management, and enforcement of commercial terms
- Support account teams with senior level contract expertise to maintain strong customer relationships
- Lead virtual teams responsible for contract setup, administration, compliance checks, and governance
- Own Access customer communications relating to contractual terms and performance
About You
- Extensive experience in commercial contract management within complex or regulated environments
- Proven track record of negotiating and managing high value, complex contracts
- Strong commercial leadership mindset with the ability to protect value and manage risk
- Sound understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and regulatory considerations
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Highly analytical with strong attention to contractual detail
- Able to balance robust governance with pragmatic commercial outcomes
- Organised, resilient, and comfortable leading in ambiguous or fast moving environments
Desirable qualifications: LLB degree level being attained.
