Job Description:
You will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of Ophthalmology, which is an integral part of the Division of Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
You will ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care to patients within the trust and contribute to the further development of the Ophthalmology service.
Clinical Responsibilities
- An average of 8.0 clinical sessions per week, including laser lists, IVT lists, medical retina and glaucoma clinics. Additional managerial responsibilities may be required to accommodate the timetable.
Administration & Teaching
- Two SPA/administration sessions per week.
- Opportunity to attend regular regional ophthalmic teaching sessions.
On‑Call & Audit Duties
- Participate in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota as 1st on‑call, supported by a consultant 2nd on‑call, covering 7 days a week.
- Participate in regular teaching and audit sessions.
- Involve in supervising trainees in clinics and theatre when necessary.
Additional Duties
- Undertake additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances essential for continuity of patient care.
