Job Description:
We are inviting applications for a substantive full‑time (10–hour per week) Consultant in Geriatric/Acute Medicine. Salary will be based on the NHS Employers Consultant pay scale (£109,725 – £145,478 per annum).
Role Summary
As a Consultant you will provide direct clinical care in Geriatric/Acute Medicine. Dual‑trained in General Internal Medicine and a Specialty Medicine will be welcomed. You may undertake specialty sessions where possible.
Job Plan
- Split: 8.75 days of Direct Clinical Care (DCC) / 1.25 days of Supporting & Administrative (SPA)
- SPA core activities: appraisal, re‑validation, CME, routine departmental meetings, etc.
- SPA non‑core activities (subject to agreement): educational supervision, research, leadership and quality improvement, consultant development programmes, skill consolidation.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Contribute to the General Medicine on‑call rota
- Cover MAU weekend rota
- Provide SDEC evening cover
Qualifications & Requirements
• Dual training in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric/Acute Medicine or related Specialty Medicine.
• Class 1 registration with GMC.
