A Nationwide Leading Law Firm is recruiting Children Solicitors for permanent roles within its expanding Family & Children Department
Our client serves corporate entities and private individuals in over 25 practice areas across London and England and Wales. The Family & Children law department is ranked and recognised for family and matrimonial work, providing confidential advice and effective representation. Practitioners hold the Law Society’s Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditations, ensuring advocacy in all court proceedings and a highly professional service.
The department assists high net‑worth individuals in divorce matters, including domestic abuse, adoption, child abduction, prohibitive steps orders, specific issues orders, injunctions, spousal and child maintenance, properties, pensions and freezing injunctions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Department Director
- Responsible for all aspects of Children Law work, providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members
- Manage and supervise Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to handle appropriate caseload types and complexities
- Assist with delivery of training and development within the department
- Deal with a range of Children work including divorce, financial disputes and remedies, international elements of child abduction/adoption, injunctions/non‑molestation orders and provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
- Maintain a professional, pro‑active approach, strong client care skills and contribute to business development and marketing to supplement substantial work volumes
Key Skills Required
- NQ – 3 years PQE as Solicitor
- Extensive experience in all Family / Child Care related work
- Clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of application
- Strong management skills
- Committed team player who approaches team concerns fairly, fosters a culture of positive change and encourages cross‑referrals
- Professional with a pro‑active approach, excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable clients and resolve complex practicalities involved in child care issues
- Excellent networking and communication skills with ability to market the Company and generate new business
- Working knowledge of publicly funded Family and Child Care work and ability to service privately funded cases
- Advocacy experience an advantage
- Excellent IT skills – familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills

Salary and Working Conditions
On offer is an attractive salary package and a supportive team environment with real prospects for promotion. Hybrid working is permitted in line with company policy.
- Salary: £40,000–£45,000 p.a., depending on experience
- Panel‑Accredited Salary: £52,000 p.a. (+ supervision bonus up to £8k p.a.)
