Key Responsibilities

  • Member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) supporting the delivery of WHA’s vision, values, business plan and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the Property Services Team, including strategy development, operational delivery, and team management.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of property services policies and programs to meet community needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure value for money is embedded to deliver cost effective services and the efficient use of resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Management Committee members and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective management and delivery of an excellent reactive, planned and cyclical repairs and maintenance service to fully comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
  • Drive innovation, particularly in areas of Net Zero compliance.
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of maintenance and customer services professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all tenant safety and housing quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior management role, ideally in the public sector or in a charitable housing organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of housing property policy, legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on partnership‑building and community engagement.
  • Ability to think strategically, balancing long‑term goals with day‑to‑day operational needs.
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH, RICS, CIOB or equivalent) is essential.
