Band 8B Finance Business Partner | Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust

The post holder will be a key contact for the Royal Free Health Unit finance team, ensuring the effective use of the Health Unit’s financial resources in line with the agreed financial envelope and allocated FIP target. The role requires working closely with stakeholders, persuading and influencing the financial direction of the division.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support to the development of Royal Free Health Unit FIP and savings plans and monitor the delivery of these plans.
• Prepare and review business cases, ensuring that all costs, income and benefits are fully understood and decisions on new initiatives are taken with full knowledge of their financial implications.
• Prepare annual budgets, focusing on service line profitability and providing challenge to service line assumptions.
• Lead financial negotiations related to contracts, both internally and externally.
• Enhance and develop financial analytical support to help managers develop their services in a cost‑effective manner, including the development of planning and monitoring policies and procedures.
• Attend key board and committee meetings as a member of a multidisciplinary management team and participate in the day‑to‑day operations of assigned service lines.
