Role Type

Voluntary position for a fixed term of four years, with the possibility of reappointment for up to four additional years.

Time Commitment

Approximately four (4) days a year, including panel meetings and preparatory work.

Salary & Allowance

This is a voluntary role; UK expenses for in-person meetings are reimbursed. An attendance allowance is available to support freelance/self‑employed and other unwaged panel members, up to £50 per hour or £350 per day, including travel time.

Role Overview

The Accreditation Committee is a subcommittee of Arts Council England’s National Council that oversees the effective management of the Accreditation Scheme for museums and galleries across the UK. As a member you will contribute to decision‑making at regular award panel meetings, provide peer recognition, and support the credibility and reputation of the nationwide scheme.
