UCLH is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic senior manager to join the friendly and collaborative Strategic Finance team.

The Strategic Finance team oversees the strategy, planning, delivery and financial reporting for a complex capital programme spending between £70m and £100m each year. The programme includes strategic projects (such as our new Dementia Research Institute and Neonatal Expansion), innovative transformational projects (such as Power Purchase Agreements and Digital Diagnostics) and our Trust-wide replace and refresh programme.

You will be working with the Senior Project Finance Manager to lead the Strategic Finance team of six, with direct responsibility for a team of three. You will also be responsible for effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders who support delivery of the capital programme across the Trust.

This is a key role within the corporate centre of an innovative and forward‑looking finance team. It is an opportunity to make a real difference to how services are delivered, supporting improvements in patient care and for our staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support the effective delivery of a large and complex capital programme on time and within budget.
  • Provide financial management of the programme, including planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Advise on technical accounting and the financial aspects of business case development.
  • Develop relationships across the Trust (e.g., procurement, medical physics, capital projects, strategy).
  • Show strong leadership to ensure high standards within the team are maintained and Trust governance is followed.
  • Work efficiently at pace, adapt to changing priorities, demonstrate strong political awareness and an inclusive management approach.
