Position Overview
Clinical Psychologist – Band 8a (permanent) or Band 7/8a Development post (newly qualified) in the Complex Needs Service at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for clinicians with expertise in personality disorder assessment and evidence‑based modalities such as DBT, SCM, and MBT.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological assessment, therapy and consultation to adults referred to the Complex Needs Service.
- Formulate and implement individual treatment plans based on DBT, SCM, MBT and other clinical skills.
- Supervise and manage the workloads of trainee clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the service’s policies and procedures.
- Support ongoing service development, contribute to service evaluation, audit and research.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and maintain relationships with other services.
Qualifications & Experience
- UK‑qualified clinical psychologist (or recent qualification for the development post).
- Strong experience or demonstrated interest in working with personality disorder.
- Proficiency in DBT, SCM, MBT modalities or commitment to gain competence.
- Experience in clinical supervision and training of trainees or assistants.
- Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
