We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our Public Health Substance Use Team, with a background in substance use and/or housing. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering a whole‑system approach to substance use, working across a wide range of partners to improve outcomes for residents.
You will support the strategic development, commissioning and delivery of priorities from Derbyshire’s Housing Support Grant application, working closely with colleagues across public health, housing, adult social care, health, criminal justice, recovery services and the voluntary and community sector. The role requires strong partnership working skills and the ability to bring together different organisations around shared priorities.
You will have experience working in substance use and/or housing, or a closely related field, and a strong understanding of the complex issues facing people affected by drug and alcohol use.
You will be:
- Excellent at partnership working and able to build and maintain effective relationships across multiple organisations and sectors
- Confident working with commissioned providers and supporting commissioning processes
- Comfortable working at a strategic level while also supporting practical delivery
Essential criteria:
- Experience working in substance use and/or housing, public health, or a related area
- Strong partnership working experience across statutory, voluntary and community sectors
- Experience supporting or contributing to commissioning, service development or contract management
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to a range of audiences
