Quality / Calibration Engineer

Aldershot, Hampshire (Onsite)

Full-time | Permanent

£40,000 – £45,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality / Calibration Engineer to join our Quality Department at our Aldershot facility. This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing calibrated equipment systems and ensuring full compliance with aerospace quality standards, particularly EN/AS9100 and traceability to national and international standards. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will play a vital role in maintaining quality excellence, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain calibrated equipment across the business (internal and external calibration)
  • Ensure compliance with QMS requirements, including AS9100 and customer-specific standards
  • Prepare and support internal and external audits, including NCR management and closure
  • Process supplier and customer returns relating to non-conforming products
  • Lead and support corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
  • Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving within production
  • Identify trends in internal failures and drive improvement initiatives
  • Support customer audits and liaise directly with customer quality representatives
  • Promote a strong quality culture and continuous improvement across the business
  • Ensure QA priorities align with on-time delivery targets
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety requirements

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in calibration (hands‑on and system management)
  • Strong understanding of EN/AS9100 (minimum 3 years’ experience)
  • Background in a manufacturing environment (aerospace desirable)
  • Experience with audits, NCRs, and quality systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (e.g. 8D, root cause analysis)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams and external customers

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 15:45
  • Friday: 06:00 – 13:00 (Early finish every Friday)
