We're looking for a Technology Maintenance & Project Engineer to join our TfL Tunnels & Pump Stations team based at Blackwall Tunnel. In this role you'll be the key point of contact between our main contract team, our technology subcontractor Cubic, TfL stakeholders, and other technical partners. You'll also play a vital role in coordinating and overseeing the technology workstream for one of London's most important transport infrastructure projects.
Location: Blackwall Tunnel, London – site based 5 days per week
Hours: 12 months Fixed Term Contract – 45 hours per week
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per year + private healthcare + £5.9k annual car allowance

Responsibilities
As a Technology Maintenance & Project Engineer you will ensure the reliable performance and continuous improvement of technology systems in the TfL road tunnels and across the associated network, making a real difference to the safety and efficiency of transport in London.
- Managing the relationship with our technology subcontractor Cubic, ensuring all delivery, performance and contractual commitments are met.
- Coordinating with TfL and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of technology systems with civil, electrical, mechanical and SCADA elements.
- Providing technical oversight and expertise for communications, control systems, monitoring systems and networked infrastructure.
- Reviewing and validating technical submissions, designs, test documents and commissioning evidence to ensure compliance with standards.
- Supporting emergency responses to critical incidents and coordinating rapid resolution to restore system functionality safely.
Qualifications
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a technology-focused engineering discipline, or relevant highways and traffic technology experience.
- Have experience managing subcontractors, ideally in technology or systems integration.
- Understand tunnel technologies, communications networks and control systems.
- Be self-motivated with strong communication skills and can build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Hold a valid UK full driving licence and be able to travel to sites as required.
