About the Advanced Technology Group
The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is a part of Foundational Systems and Experiences Engineering (FSEE) within the Platform Business Group. Established over 20 years ago as part ofPlayStation®’sfirst-party game development studios, ATG has always focused on helping game developers get the most out of PlayStation® hardware – a mission that continues to this day. As a team, weare responsible forlarge parts of the graphics software stack used by all PlayStation® games, and collaborate with leading engineering teams worldwide, from game developers to hardware vendors, to deliver key platform technologies.
The group’s work centres around the interface between gamesandgraphicshardware.The group’s work centres around the interface between gamesandgraphicshardware.Our job is to create a development environment– and to a degree hardware –forgame teams,middleware providers, and our own platform teams.We enable other to create compelling games and technologies, so that our players get the most out of investing in our platform.When a developer implements a path-tracer, they will be using our APIsto program the GPUand build their BVH structures, our compilerto create shader microcode and our tools to debug and profile.

This is a uniqueopportunity for a graduate toget to the heart ofPlayStation graphics programmingand towork with and learn froma highly experience team.
We are offering a 12-month fixed-term contract as part of our wider Graduate Programme within the Product and Technology group. This programme is designed to provide a structured early-career experience, combining hands‑on work with dedicated development opportunities.
As part of the scheme, you will have access to a speaker series featuring leaders and experts from across the organisation, a range of training opportunities to build professional skills, and regular opportunities to connect and network with fellow graduates across the Product and Technology organisation.
What we are looking for
- A strong interest inhow GPUs workand how touse them efficiently.
- Experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing C++ code.
- Experience withwriting code that directly accesseslow-levelgraphics APIs such as DirectX 12 or Vulkan.
- Experience with writing shader code.Complex shading models are notrequired, but experience withnon-trivial compute shaders is a plus.
- Ademonstrableinterest in computingandcomputer hardwareand ideally gaming consoles.
- Experience with hardwareray-tracingis a plus.
