Manufacturing Team Leader
Would suit a proven Manufacturing Team Leader who comes from an Assembly / Mechanical Engineering background. Production Processes cover welding, shot blasting, CNC machining, Painting and Assembly of mostly mechanical products. Day shift position leading a small, settled team of 10 within a growing business.
Are you a Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Team Leader seeking a new challenge within a growing engineering manufacturer? Join a market leader, based near the Bourne area, who manufacture a range of specialist products. As Production Supervisor, you will play an integral part in allocating jobs and improving processes where possible. We need someone who is comfortable leading by example and retaining occasional hands‑on duties. Knowledge of hydraulics or electrical parts would be an advantage, but not essential.
Salary & Working Hours: c£35,000 to £40,000 as a guide. 07:30‑5:00 Mon‑Thu, 07:30‑14:30 Fri + 25 days paid holiday + Banks.
Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical fitting / assembly.
- Team leadership experience in a similar role within engineering.
- Specific experience within the agricultural sector would be a bonus, but not essential for the right person.
- Someone who looks to improve a process and has a continuous improvement mindset.
- Good understanding of production processes and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Excellent IT skills and experience with ERP systems (Syspro specifically would be a strong advantage).
- Proven data analysis, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Acting as Line Manager for shopfloor employees, delegating and monitoring tasks to deliver the production plan.
- Leading and motivating the team to achieve efficiency, quality, and delivery targets.
- Promoting and enforcing health and safety procedures.
- Troubleshooting shopfloor issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ensuring shopfloor facilities and equipment are well maintained.
- Preparing monthly working hours reports for payroll.
- Accurately entering completed jobs into the company's ERP system.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
