An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and growing fire & security company with over 60 years’ experience in delivering high-quality fire protection solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Trainee Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic chance to start a long-term career within the fire safety industry, with full training and clear progression opportunities provided.

The Role

  • Assist experienced engineers with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Learn to work in line with industry standards such as BS 5839 (fire alarm regulations)
  • Support with fault finding, testing, and commissioning of systems
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on client sites
  • Maintain accurate records and provide excellent customer service
  • Work on a variety of systems including fire alarms, emergency lighting and other life safety equipment

About You

  • Must have a full UK driving licence (essential)
  • A strong interest in electrical or hands‑on engineering work
  • Willing to learn a new trade and develop technical skills
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
  • Comfortable working at heights and using ladders
  • Flexible to travel and work away from home (approx. 5 weeks per year)
