Static Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) – Canary Wharf

We’re currently recruiting for an Electrical Bias Shift Engineer to join a professional landlord-side engineering team across a prestigious commercial building in Canary Wharf.

The Role

You’ll be part of a dedicated on-site engineering team responsible for maintaining landlord systems within a large commercial building. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands‑on, traditional engineering environment, with a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and fault finding rather than working on brand‑new, warranty‑covered equipment.

  • Team of 8 engineers, split into 2 teams of 4
  • Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off (7am‑7pm)
  • Always working in pairs for safety and efficiency
  • Additional mobile team supporting tenant‑related issues

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) as tasked by building coordinator.
  • Fault finding and remedial works across electrical and mechanical plant.
  • Ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Work collaboratively within a structured engineering team.

Requirements

  • Electrically qualified – NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge.
  • Experience within commercial building maintenance.
  • Strong fault‑finding ability and practical mindset.
  • Reliable, team‑focused, and proactive.

Package

  • Salary: £49,026 with 3% shift allowance.
  • Overtime available.
  • 25 days holiday + bank with additional buy‑and‑sell schemes.
  • Private pension contribution.
  • Bupa healthcare scheme.
  • Full uniform, PPE and specialist tools provided.
  • Yearly salary increases and bonus schemes.
  • 20% discount on all food across Canary Wharf.
  • Support for learning development for all engineers.
  • Enhanced parental leave, sick pay and compassionate leave.
