Locum Consultant in Anaesthesia

Job Overview

We are looking to recruit up to 9 Locum consultant Anaesthetists. Various sub‑specialty interests can be accommodated such as neuro anaesthesia, Obstetric anaesthesia, trauma anaesthesia, peri operative medicine, Paediatric (including neonates) anaesthesia.

Main duties of the job

The consultant will be on a 1:8 to 1:20 rota.

• Provide an anaesthetic service in accordance with the agreed timetable and subsequent job plan.
• Consultant on call to cover various theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary site.
• Supervise trainee anaesthetic staff within the Trust.

A standard full‑time Job Plan will contain 10 programmed activities (PAs) comprising 8 PAs for direct clinical care (DCC), 1 PA for General Consultant on call at HRI. 1 SPA are classed as ‘core’ and cover time for training, teaching, CPD, audit, appraisal, clinical governance and attendance at service meetings.
