We’re partnering with an early-stage, venture-backed deep tech company developing advanced imaging and deployable hardware systems. As they scale, they’re looking to hire a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical architecture across their core product lines. This is a key, high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a startup environment and wants to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership.
The Role
As the lead for mechanical design, you will drive the development of precision hardware systems from concept through to deployment. You’ll play a central role in shaping both the product and the engineering approach, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across embedded, systems, and test.
Requirements
- Strong experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally within high-performance or ruggedised systems
- Proven ability to take products from concept through to prototype and deployment
- Experience designing for challenging environments (e.g. UAVs, aerospace, defence, or field systems)
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g. SolidWorks or similar)
- Hands-on approach, with experience in prototyping, testing, and iteration
- PhD or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related discipline
