About the role
The Head of Merchandising (Clothing) is responsible for leading the global merchandising strategy for the MP Activewear clothing range, ensuring product assortments, pricing architecture and margin structures deliver strong commercial performance.
This role will drive the planning, trading and lifecycle management of the clothing category across global markets. Working closely with design, product development, sourcing and marketing teams, the role ensures the brand delivers compelling seasonal ranges that align with customer demand, market trends and the wider brand strategy.
The successful candidate will bring strong commercial leadership and deep experience within apparel merchandising to drive category growth and elevate the clothing proposition within the Myprotein ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the global merchandising strategy for MP Activewear, ensuring strong commercial performance, product relevance and category growth.
- Develop clear category frameworks across training, performance and athleisure apparel.
- Lead seasonal range planning including assortment strategy, pricing architecture and product mix.
- Ensure collections balance core continuity products, seasonal trends and innovation.
- Monitor product performance including sales, sell-through, margin and return rates.
- Optimise ranges through SKU management, replenishment and markdown strategies.
- Manage inventory strategy including demand forecasting, stock investment and intake planning.
- Ensure stock availability aligns with trading peaks and product launches.
- Lead regular trading reviews to evaluate category performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, margin and product productivity.
- Work with ecommerce teams to optimise online product presentation, category navigation and product launches to maximise conversion.
- Monitor consumer trends, competitor activity and performance innovation within the activewear market to inform product direction.
- Work closely with design, product development, sourcing, marketing and supply chain teams to deliver commercially successful apparel collections.
- Lead and develop the merchandising team, fostering a data-driven and commercially focused culture.
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in merchandising or category management, preferably in clothing / activewear.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills with experience managing multi-category product portfolios.
- Proven ability to lead merchandising teams in a fast-paced retail or ecommerce environment.
- Strong understanding of consumer trends within the fitness and wellness industry.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing, and supply chain.
