Consultant Paediatrician – Neurodevelopmental Service (10 PAs, Full Time)

Contract: 10 Programmed Activities (10 PAs). Flexible working available.

Salary: £109,725 – £145,478.

Location: The Grove, Grove Road, Chadwell Heath, RM6 4XH.

The post is for a Consultant Paediatrician within the BHR Neurodevelopmental service. The post holder will be a GMC registered clinician responsible for the patients allocated to them, assess, manage, plan and deliver evidence‑based care, and will be professionally and legally accountable.

Responsibilities include supporting clinical and operational leadership in the newly established Neurodevelopmental service for children, supervising junior colleagues, providing teaching and training, collaborating with other health and social care professionals, contributing to service development, evaluation and applied research, and providing senior medical support and direct input on clinical cases and families.

Main Responsibilities

• Organise and prioritise own and others’ workload and day‑to‑day allocation of work.
• Deputise for the team manager when required and delegate appropriately to other medical staff.
• Maintain organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them.
• Provide accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
• Ensure effective risk management at team level through accident/incident reporting, risk assessment and control, and addition of residual risks to the Trust’s risk register.
• Support the development of the Autism/ADHD service, working alongside the multidisciplinary specialist team, contributing to assessment, investigations and supervising MDT colleagues, and producing statutory reports including EHC plans.
• Leverage opportunities to develop the integrated multidisciplinary Neurodevelopmental service across BHR.
