AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
This Network Deployment Engineer will build Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions as part of our Infrastructure Operations team. You’ll help scale network systems, support multiple data centre locations, manage capacity, and work with internal customers and external vendors to deliver projects guided by Technical Program Managers.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
- Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
- Manage cabling vendor activities and perform quality assurance activities.
- Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows.
- Participate in migrations (possibly off business hours), basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter‑connectivity issues, including device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
- Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow.
A Day in the Life
You’ll attend meetings, create and execute change‑management activities in the data centre, deploy hardware, connect cabling, troubleshoot links, update tickets, collaborate with AWS peers, and find new ways to innovate and improve for customers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, or advanced networking and troubleshooting experience (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL).
- Experience managing small to medium scale projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- BS in Information Systems or Computer Science and/or relevant certifications; understanding of infrastructure technologies (routers, switches, cabling, optics, test equipment).
