We are excited to offer a permanent Field Service Engineer covering London and surrounding areas. The role is full time Monday to Friday with weekend work and callouts – 40 hours a week.
We maintain a fleet of MOTS and COTS products, both company and customer owned, and maximize operational availability through rapid, cost‑effective fault resolution while maintaining safe operations.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Service Desk, MSC and customer, clarifying expected work, timescales, and costs.
- Identify root cause of failures and secure correct parts through the nominated supply chain.
- Communicate additional work and potential costs to customers (NFWT).
- Complete accurate job and service documentation and obtain necessary signatures.
- Repair, maintain, inspect, and service plant and equipment to company standards, LOLER and PUWER legislation.
- Maintain local spare parts stocks and documentation.
- Interact with local MoD users of the service.
- Record and input management information from maintenance and transaction activity.
- Implement safe systems of work and adhere to company safety, health, environmental and quality policies.
- Mentor MoD maintainers and users within qualification limits.
- Work away from the regional pool location and other areas if required.
- Perform out of hours duties including weekend work and callouts.
- Meet local or team‑placed goals and KPIs.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence.
- No restrictions to gaining MoD security clearance.
- Ability to assist in loading/unloading equipment, tools, STTE and spares.
- Valid passport for occasional overseas travel.
- Capacity to handle intense workloads.
- City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety, LOLER and PUWER regulations.
- Experience in construction‑related plant, MHE or HGV maintenance.
- Positive safety culture and competence in dynamic risk assessments, hazard surveys and safe systems of work.
