We're working with a trading firm looking to hire a Technical Operations Engineer into their London team. This is a hands‑on production support role sitting at the intersection of trading and infrastructure. You'll be the person keeping mission‑critical systems running, investigating issues end‑to‑end, and working directly alongside engineering and trading teams to keep things stable and performant.
This isn't a passive monitoring role. You'll own incidents from first alert through to post‑mortem, coordinate with exchanges and brokers on connectivity, and actively contribute to automation and observability improvements that make the platform better over time.
Monitoring, investigating, and resolving production issues across the trading infrastructure. Managing exchange and broker connectivity, handling integrations, and coordinating system changes with internal teams and external vendors. Running incident management end‑to‑end, covering response, communication, review, and preventative action. Building runbooks, writing automation, and extending monitoring tooling to reduce toil and improve visibility. Working closely with engineering on performance optimisation and change control.
You’ll need to be someone who stays composed under pressure, communicates clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and takes genuine ownership of problems rather than passing them along.
High‑availability, low‑latency trading infrastructure. The kind of place where uptime matters and the work you do is visible. If you’ve come from an investment bank, hedge fund, prop trading firm, or electronic trading environment and you’re looking for a role with more ownership and fewer layers, this is worth a conversation.
