Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £48,226.25
Location: Uttoxeter
Shift: 4 on 4 off (days & nights)
Hours: 07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00
Looking to build a long-term engineering career in a growing, stable industry where your development genuinely matters?
This is an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a profitable and expanding manufacturing business within the food sector — a business investing heavily in its people, processes, and future growth.
This role would suit a Maintenance Engineer who values progression, training, and long-term security over short-term salary gains. Whether you're coming from manufacturing, production, forces, FMCG, or another engineering environment, this is a chance to transition into the food industry with full support.
You'll join a close-knit team where attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are valued just as highly as technical ability. If you're a Maintenance Engineer with a Level 3 qualification and the drive to improve, this role offers a clear path to becoming fully multi‑skilled.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across a fast‑paced production site
- Fault‑finding on mechanical and/or electrical equipment
- Supporting production by minimising downtime and improving reliability
- Completing preventative maintenance tasks to a high standard
- Working safely with strict adherence to food industry and H&S standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement and sharing best practices with the team
What We’re Looking For
- A Level 3 qualified Maintenance Engineer (essential – NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent)
- Electrically or mechanically biased – both backgrounds considered
- A hands‑on Maintenance Engineer with strong problem‑solving skills
- Someone open to learning, developing, and moving into a multi‑skilled role
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team‑focused mindset
- Willingness to work a rotating 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern
What’s on Offer
- Salary: £48,226.25 per annum (paid weekly, salaried)
- Clear progression path to become a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Structured training and development, including exposure to food manufacturing systems
- Entry into a stable, growing food production environment with long‑term opportunities
- Supportive leadership team focused on developing engineers from within
- Consistent shift pattern offering strong work‑life balance
