Job Description:

Job Overview

Programme Facilitator (24‑month fixed term) in the Probation Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accredited programmes and structured interventions to offenders under community orders or licence.
  • Facilitate group work and individual sessions tailored to a range of offence types and risk levels.
  • Travel to multiple locations; claim travel expenses.
  • Work unsocial hours – evenings and weekends – as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor progress, risk and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with courts, probation practitioners, domestic abuse safety officers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide workshops and briefings to probation staff and external stakeholders.
  • Use pro‑social modelling to reinforce positive behaviours.
  • Participate in the 6‑month probationary period, training programme and performance reviews.

Training and Development

All Programme Facilitators receive comprehensive training covering theory and practical delivery of interventions. Successful completion of the 6‑month probationary period and training assessment is required.

Working Conditions

Work involves unsocial hours including evenings and weekends. The role includes travel to deliver programmes in a large regional area. No line‑management responsibilities.

Remuneration

Starting salary £26,475. Additional payments for unsocial hours: 30% for evenings, 50% for Saturdays.
