⚡ Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

Remote (UK & Ireland travel required)

Up to £650 per day (DOE)

Contract until end of year (high likelihood of extension)

Play a Key Role in Delivering Large-Scale Renewable Energy Projects

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects across the UK & Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across solar, wind, BESS, and high-voltage infrastructure, contributing from early-stage development through to construction and handover to operations.

You’ll be joining a highly collaborative engineering environment, playing a key role in ensuring technical excellence across multiple large-scale projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting electrical design and engineering across the full project lifecycle – from development through to construction and handover
  • Contributing to electrical system design including LV/HV infrastructure, substations, and grid connections
  • Producing and reviewing key design deliverables such as single line diagrams, schematics, and layouts
  • Working closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Supporting FEED, detailed design, and construction phases across multiple projects
  • Participating in technical reviews, site visits, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities where required
  • Identifying and managing technical risks, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery
  • Contributing to technical specifications, standards, and employer’s requirements for tendering

⚡ Project Scope

  • Technologies: Solar, Wind, BESS, Substations
  • Project sizes: 3–5 MW up to 300 MW
  • Voltage levels: 33kV up to 400kV
  • Locations: Wales, Scotland, Ireland (wide portfolio)

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Strong electrical design experience across renewable energy or power infrastructure projects
  • Experience covering full project lifecycle (development → construction → handover)
  • Knowledge of HV/LV systems, substations, and grid connection requirements
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and design codes (IEC, Grid Code etc.)
  • Experience working with consultants and contractors on engineering delivery
  • Ability to produce and review technical documentation and designs
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
