Role Overview

Yorkshire Trading Company is a growing, family‑owned business with 35 stores across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire & the North East, plus a busy ecommerce operation and Outdoor Events teams trading nationwide. We are looking for two Retail Store Supervisors to join our York Store.

Working Hours

Job type: Part‑time, Permanent

  • 32 hours over 4 days, including some weekends on a rota basis
  • 24 hours over 3 days, including some weekends on a rota basis

Additional hours may be required at busy times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the store manager in the day‑to‑day running of the store
  • Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder)
  • Support management and training of retail colleagues, including cashiers and the replenishment team on the shop floor
  • Work on store displays, stock rotation and put‑away
  • Keep up‑to‑date with all products, services and promotions
  • Handle customer questions, complaints and issues
  • Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters, suggesting items and delivering great, traditional customer service
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Cash‑up duties as and when required
  • Ensure pricing is correct
  • Manage tidy time

Essential Skills

  • Previous supervisory or people‑management experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Some retail experience is required.
  • Knowledge of cash‑up procedures would be advantageous
  • Computer literate
  • Desire to achieve and deliver high standards

Salary and Hours
