Principal Mechanical Engineer – Flood and Coastal MEICA

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Flood and Coastal MEICA team based in either Cambridge or Bristol.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day technical delivery of mechanical design services on multi-disciplinary pumping station and water control projects.
• Oversee the production of high-quality design deliverables, including specifications, drawings, and schedules.
• Mentor junior team members, including graduates and apprentices, and play a key role in their career development.

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical / Principal Mechanical Engineer in the UK, ideally with a track record of delivering solutions across water and/or flood defence sectors.
• Supported, developed or mentored junior colleagues.
• Experienced with BIM processes and tools including Revit.
• Working closely with and managing contractors.
• A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification (HNC, HND, Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ideally chartered status with the IMechE or CIWEM.
