We are working with a Private Equity–backed distribution business to recruit an Operations Finance Business Partner at a pivotal point in its value creation journey.
Operating a national distribution network with a significant warehouse and logistics footprint, the business is backed by an engaged Private Equity sponsor and are focused on driving operational efficiency, enhancing performance visibility and embedding a high-impact finance partnering model across its supply chain.
This role sits at the heart of those ambitions, acting as a trusted advisor to senior operational stakeholders. It offers a blend of on the ground operational exposure and strategic influence, with direct input into performance improvement, cost optimisation and executive-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Business Partnering
- Act as the primary finance partner to depots and wider supply chain leadership.
- Provide robust challenge and support to operational stakeholders, influencing decision‑making with credibility and insight.
- Build strong relationships across depot management, regional leadership and central functions.
Warehouse Performance & Cost Control
- Own and manage warehouse labour and employment costs, ensuring alignment with productivity and efficiency targets.
- Demonstrate an established and detailed understanding of warehouse KPIs, including throughput, pick rates, utilisation and service levels.
- Analyse goods in/out flows, identifying opportunities to optimise performance and reduce cost.
Reporting & Executive Insight
- Deliver board‑level reporting on depot performance, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Produce high‑quality monthly reporting, forecasts and budgets for depot operations.
- Translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify performance gaps and drive corrective actions in partnership with operational teams.
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives across warehouse operations.
- Enhance KPI frameworks and reporting to improve visibility and accountability.
Planning & Forecasting
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for depot operations.
- Provide forward‑looking insight to support in‑month performance steering and decision‑making.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
- Proven experience in finance business partnering within supply chain, logistics or warehouse‑led environments.
- Strong understanding of operational KPIs, labour models and cost drivers within a warehouse setting.
- Experience producing exec/board‑level reporting and performance insight.
- Demonstrable ability to influence and challenge senior operational stakeholders with credibility and gravitas.
- Commercially focused, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
