Team/Role Overview

The Citi EMEA Foreign Exchange (FX) Novation’s Team has a wide range of internal stakeholders having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience. A role within Markets Operations means that you will have a truly global reach, in a supportive environment which will provide you with new experiences and development opportunities right here in Belfast’s iconic Titanic Quarter.

What You’ll Do

  • This role will provide support to a variety of tasks related to the FX Novation process.
  • Activities will include independently dealing with Business As Usual (BAU) processes and additional ad‑hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders within a complex Markets Operations environment.
  • Provide day‑to‑day repo transactional processing which includes supporting the EMEA based Sales and Trading Desks.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how the team collectively integrates to contribute to achieving overall business goals.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within the department to resolve issues related to the novation processes.
  • Responsible for escalating control gaps and issues to senior management; identify control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures and solutions to mitigate risk or control losses.
  • Directly impact the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and formulation of procedures/process improvement.
  • Perform detailed analysis of FX novation related issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, and recommend or take appropriate action.

What We’ll Need From You

  • Reasonable knowledge of the business processes, systems and tools used in the novations business.
  • Demonstrated previous experience of working as a team leader in a fast‑paced environment.
  • General awareness of managing, preparing, and reviewing documentation.
  • Adequate ability to identify, mitigate, manage, resolve, and elevate risks and issues.
  • Awareness of risk types, policies, and control measures and processes.
  • Compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and adherence to policies.
