As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will own the reliability, scalability, and security of Airbox’s platform while leading a team of 3 DevOps engineers. You will be the primary architect of this vision and define and execute the DevOps strategy, build robust cloud native foundations, and bring structure to a fast evolving engineering environment. The main objective is to achieve 100% automation across our platform and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Security to ensure our platform is resilient, observable and cost efficient.
We are seeking a visionary DevOps Lead to transform our engineering culture by mentoring a team of three and spearheading our journey toward 100% automation. In this pivotal role, you will define the overarching platform strategy, architect scalable AWS environments using Terraform while optimizing GitHub Actions to make high-frequency releases a "non-event." You will be the champion of DevSecOps and observability, balancing high-velocity deployments with rigorous reliability standards, cost-optimization, and proactive incident management. By standardizing tooling and reducing friction, you will empower our developers and bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern, cloud-native architectures, ensuring our live services remain secure, performant, and resilient around the clock.
This role seeks a Lead DevOps or Platform Engineer who functions as a "player‑coach," balancing hands‑on technical execution with the strategic leadership needed to bring structure to fast‑paced, imperfect environments. The ideal candidate is an expert in the AWS ecosystem, specifically regarding Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, supported by a strong foundation in Linux administration and modern observability tools. Beyond the technical stack, the position demands a pragmatic problem‑solver who can communicate effectively with non‑technical stakeholders and thrives on driving change through ownership and collaboration.
Most colleagues work our core hours of 9am‑5pm with others flexibly between 7am‑7pm. Whether you’re fitting in a spin class or the school run, you’ll have the flexibility for whatever matters most. All we ask in return is that you produce great work.
