Head of Music
A forward-thinking & leading Secondary School in Hackney is looking for a Head of Music (Music Teacher) for a September 2026 start. Permanent, full-time contract.
Job Description
- Lead a large team of Music teachers (KS3-KS5) including trainees, ECT, Teach First and experienced staff.
- Design and tailor a Music curriculum to suit the cohorts’ needs and wants.
- Manage a range of personalities and foster motivation, inspiration and high standards.
- Co‑operate with school leadership to support CPD and future leadership opportunities.
- Salary range: MPS2 – UPS3.
Person Specification
- UK QTS required.
- Strong understanding of the Music curriculum.
- Excellent leadership skills – able to manage diverse personalities, inspire staff and set outstanding expectations.
- Commitment to professional development and high standards for yourself and fellow Music teachers.
