Leading the development of complex electromechanical medical devices
Cambridge; salary up to £70k DoE + benefits. On-site in the company’s Cambridge offices with occasional visits to clients and manufacturers; some home working may be possible.
Responsibilities
Manage development projects and steer technical direction. Capture requirements, report progress, resolve issues, and maintain frequent contact with clients. Lead multidisciplinary development teams and provide direct engineering input to deliver finished solutions. Tasks include innovative product design, problem solving, prototyping, supporting transfer to manufacture, and managing suppliers.
Qualifications
- A 1st or 2.1 degree in mechanical engineering or a similarly applicable subject.
- Excellent designing, prototyping and testing skills, demonstrated by successfully taking multiple product concepts from design through to manufacture.
- Strong client-facing communication skills (consultancy experience preferred) and willingness to travel to client sites and manufacturers on occasion.
- Experience in project planning, project management and technical leadership.
- Full existing UK work permission without time limitation or sponsorship.
Nice-to-haves
- CAD design (particularly with SolidWorks).
- Plastics and injection moulding.
- Medical device regulations – familiarity with the processes/documentation needed for FDA and ISO approval.
