Plant Manager – ERF

Job Title: Plant Manager Chilton Biomass

Salary: Competitive Salary plus Veolia Benefits

Grade: GGS 14

Location: Chilton (Durham)

What you’ll be doing:

• Responsible for overall performance of the business unit
• Direction and coordination of all aspects of the Biomass Plant, liaising with the site Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager
• Drive high levels of plant performance
• Assist in establishing annual goals and objectives while supporting the strategy for the business unit
• Maintain profit and loss ratios
• Deliver operational efficiencies and cost‑saving solutions
• Act with a large degree of autonomy
• Manage and support your teams to be the best that they can be
• Prepare annual budgets
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
• Liaise with relevant experts within your region and across the business to design and implement technical solutions
• Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement
• Communicate business objectives, performance and other matters of business to staff

What we’re looking for:

• Previous technical experience from a continuous process background
• Degree, or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Strong leadership skills
• Previous experience of working at a senior level
• Ability to successfully support and manage your teams by offering them guidance and taking a mentor approach to your direct reports
• Negotiating and influencing skills
• Strong commercial acumen
• Familiar with Industrial Health and safety compliance
• Power Generation Experience
• NEBOSH
