Role Overview
ELC Bristol is a year‑round language school providing quality English language education to students from around the world. We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Summer Student Residence Manager to join our team for a seasonal residential role in Central Bristol. In this role you will live on site at Unite Students with international students aged 16 and 17 who have come to the UK to learn English. You will coordinate and help manage, together with ELC’s Principal and Self‑Catering Manager, a small team of Residence Coordinators in ensuring our students are safe, happy, well looked after and fully supported in the residence and maintain a structured and positive living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of 2–3 Summer Residence Coordinators who all live in the residence.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the team, providing guidance, support and escalation for any behavioural or welfare concerns.
- Manage check‑ins and check‑outs most weekends and delegate cover when not available.
- Ensure the safety, well‑being and enjoyment of the students while maintaining a structured and positive living environment.
- Liaise with the ELC school team and decide when to escalate issues.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for someone helpful, kind, energetic and enthusiastic, with excellent customer service and communication skills, who enjoys working with young people and is practical, proactive and able to problem‑solve.
