Overview

This is an exciting time for the Trauma and Orthopaedics Clinical Nurse Specialist and Specialty Support Nurse team at CUH. We have a Band 6 Specialty Support Nurse post within our Fragility Fracture inpatient team, providing an opportunity to join an energetic, evidence‑based care environment.

The role will primarily support the Fragility Fracture team and will work alongside Resident Doctors and Consultants to provide excellent care to frail older adults. It also offers the chance to enhance skills in caring for this complex patient group alongside a wider multidisciplinary team.

These clinically based roles require completion of clinical assessment and examination skills modules. We are proud of our in‑house and local university education opportunities, providing professional development and a rewarding working environment.

We are looking for self‑motivated nurses with current experience in trauma and orthopaedics who are keen to further develop their knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder is responsible for the provision of high quality, patient‑focused care.
  • Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes.
  • Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.

Requirements

Self‑motivated nurses with current experience in trauma and orthopaedics who are keen to further develop their knowledge and skills.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full‑time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full‑time permanent contract unless you have:

  • Applied for a Graduate visa.
  • Successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment.

For NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough based roles, all applicants from NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who have identified that they are at risk of redundancy will be prioritised over those not at risk. However, interviews cannot be guaranteed.
