London Business School is thrilled to recruit a collaborative and data‑driven Senior Data Analyst to join the Transformation & Data team in Degree Education on a permanent basis. The role focuses on ensuring data collection and management processes comply with school data policies and regulations, while also producing and sharing data insights both within and outside the department. The Data Analytics and Insights unit provides management information and compliance expertise to senior management, departmental heads, faculty and students.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer data requests such as Freedom of Information, Subject Access and Erasure.
- Develop skills, knowledge and innovative ways of working.
- Collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including within the team, across the wider department and the School.
- Contribute to the development of the Central Teams’ strategy and operational plans for data, ensuring alignment with departmental strategy and overall School goals.
- Manage plans for the Data Analytics and Insights team to deliver on departmental commitments.
- Lead and oversee the production of the annual HESA Student and HESES submissions, including facilitating the capture of required data from students, ensuring correct management within the School’s Student Records System, generating the submission file with the Data Futures solution, and liaising with the Dean’s Office and HESA to resolve enquiries.
- Lead the Data Analytics and Insights unit, including line management of 2–3 analysts.
- Analyse and report on customer data, manage student satisfaction surveys, monitor and improve current processes, and oversee the department’s policies on Record of Processing Activities, Data Retention and other GDPR requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Extensive experience working with data and strong management skills.
- Advanced experience with Excel, PowerBI, VBA, SQL and other data tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a variety of audiences.
- Ability to break down technical issues and explain them in simple terms.
- Significant experience with software related to own area of specialism, with the ability to build basic models or tools.
- Sound working knowledge of policies, regulations and legislation in higher education data management and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience leading projects.
- Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with survey software desirable.
