Role Overview
As the Configuration Manager, you will design, operate, and continually improve the enterprise‑wide Configuration Management process within ServiceNow. You will be accountable for the accuracy, completeness, governance, and strategic direction of the CMDB, ensuring high‑quality data across all technology services. You will engage directly with directors, board members, and stakeholders at various levels, addressing questions on data quality, accuracy, reporting, and other CMDB‑related insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Have responsibility for and govern the Configuration Management process, standards, and data model.
- Maintain the CMDB strategy and ensure alignment with service and technology governance.
- Define and enforce Configuration Item (CI) lifecycle policies.
- Lead CMDB data quality including audits, health checks, and reconciliations.
- Oversee automated discovery, service mapping, and system integrations.
- Ensure any new integrations with the CMDB follow governance requirements and the CSDM framework.
- Collaborate across CIO teams to drive CMDB adoption and awareness.
- Provide SME guidance on CI modelling and related processes.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and related integrations.
- Understanding of Configuration Management in complex IT environments.
- Experience in data governance, analysis, and reporting for CMDB accuracy.
- ITIL Foundation certified; advanced ITIL knowledge desirable.
- Ability to confidently collaborate with colleagues across multiple third‑party vendors and stakeholders.
- Experience with CMDB auditing and compliance from an FCA perspective.
