We are seeking a Private and Overseas Patients Officer to support the Paying Patients Team at CUH. The Paying Patients unit incorporates the Private Patients Team, the Overseas Visitors Team, and a dedicated Credit Control team that focuses on delivering non‑NHS income to support the Trust’s financial sustainability.
The role involves supporting the professional administrative service provided by the Paying Patients Unit to patients, relatives, consultants, and colleagues, ensuring all income from private activity is correctly identified, charged and collected.
Key responsibilities
- Raise invoices accurately.
- Liaise with all stakeholders, including consultants and insurance companies, to secure authorisation for payment for all private patient activities.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries swiftly and effectively to avoid income loss.
- Contribute to service and process development and work with stakeholders across the Trust and externally.
Qualifications and personal qualities
- Self‑motivated and proactive.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Eligibility requirements
- Full time permanent vacancy; not available to individuals on a Student visa unless they have applied for a Graduate visa or have completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or if the Trust has agreed to sponsor for a Skilled Worker and the candidate will complete their studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date.
