Overview
Stockton‑on‑Tees Borough Council is recruiting a Residential Care Officer for Tilery House to provide high‑quality care and support to vulnerable young people who are unable to live with their families. The role involves working in a residential setting with children who have behavioural, emotional and additional needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and support to young people in a residential environment.
- Work with children who have behavioural and emotional difficulties and other additional needs.
- Act as a positive role model for the children and young people.
- Support children in developing independent living skills and routines.
Qualifications
- Recognised Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it within 18 months of appointment.
- Positive attitude and experience of working with children and young people.
- Ability to work over a 7‑day shift rota system 365 days a year, including weekends, sleep‑overs and some waking nights.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Full UK driving licence.
Salary and Working Hours
This is a part‑time role of 30 hours per week. The salary range is £23,951 – £27,323 per annum, with the grade on appointment determined by qualifications and experience.
