Marketing and Communications Manager
This post is a 12 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position. As per the Fixed Term Contacts Policy – where individuals with continuous service within the NHS apply for fixed‑term contract roles, PSD Scotland reserves the right to refuse any such appointment.
On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow. As part of this transformation, NSS and NES joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation plays a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS to accelerate national programmes that support the NHS in delivering better care now and in the future. We support staff with education and training, provide tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics, and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post
We are evolving how we work to more effectively meet the needs of our service users and support an expanding portfolio of high‑profile health and social care programmes. To continue delivering high‑quality, impactful communications, the Marketing and Communications team seeks a creative and strategic professional with a strong track record of applying the full marketing and communications mix to drive behaviour change across a range of projects. The successful candidate will enable colleagues across the organisation and NHS Scotland to maximise the value of communications opportunities that support the strategic objectives of the programmes.
The role requires excellent communications skills, media relations, digital communications and stakeholder management, along with the ability to work confidently under pressure and manage competing deadlines. Line management responsibilities may also be included, so people‑management capabilities are essential.
The Candidate
Successful candidates will lead on the development and implementation of structured marketing communication strategies and plans, working closely with our programme team to deliver communication objectives across NHS Scotland.
