Gap Personnel are recruiting a Nights Maintenance Engineer to join our client's engineering team on a permanent night shift. This key role supports production by keeping machinery running safely and efficiently.
Location: Telford
Shift: 4 on / 4 off nights (7:00pm - 7:00am)
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and carry out repairs
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Ensure all machinery is safe and compliant with regulations
- Record maintenance work and update logs
- Support continuous improvement and reduce waste
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
Experience and Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 18th Edition Electrical Installations qualification
- Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
- Advanced mechanical, electrical, and systems knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting capabilities
- Understanding of safety systems, PUWER, and equipment compliance requirements
- Effective communication and training skills for both engineers and operators
