Civil Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Water & RC Structures
Location: Thurnscoe (Office-Based)
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Package
We are a specialist design & build contractor delivering concrete liquid storage tanks and civil structures, primarily within the UK municipal water sector.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Civil Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our team in Thurnscoe.
This is a key role combining both commercial and pre‑construction responsibilities, working on tanks, bases, and associated civil infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial (QS Duties)
- Preparation of payment applications
- Cost reporting and reconciliations
- Management of subcontractor accounts
- Commercial support across live projects
Estimating
- Estimating RC structures, tanks, and civil works
- Take‑offs (SMM7) and first principles estimating
- Working across clean water, wastewater, and gas infrastructure projects
- Producing cost plans and tender submissions
Planning & Client Interaction
- Producing GANTT charts and project programmes
- Attending external meetings with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within civil engineering
- Strong background in reinforced concrete (RC) structures
- Experience within the water sector (desirable, not essential)
- Ability to carry out detailed take‑offs and cost planning
- Good commercial awareness and communication skills
Software & Technical Skills
- TAS Modelling and commercial software
- AutoCAD and related technical applications
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project essential)
- Experience with GIS or specialist lighting/signage software advantageous
