We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our clients expanding engineering team. This is a key role focused on integrating smart tools, improving processes and supporting manufacturing operations through automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement control systems to support automation and smart tooling.
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Integrate new technologies into current manufacturing and test environments.
- Program and manage systems for data collection, automation, and communication.
- Support production with troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to small projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation (schematics, reports, procedures).
- Ensure systems meet safety and compliance standards.
Key Skills & Experience
- Background in controls, automation or mechatronics.
- Experience with PLC/HMI systems, industrial automation or similar.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a structured approach to fault finding.
- Ability to work with data systems and basic programming.
- Understanding of manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Knowledge of EHS and safe working practices.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
Desirable
- Experience with industrial communication protocols / networking.
- Exposure to data analysis or process optimisation.
- Knowledge of aviation or highly regulated environments.
